At last the date for the 1935 "Engineer," Rice's first formal ball of the season, has been set, It will be held at the Houston Club on November the ninth. Kit Reid, with the best orchestra Rice has ever had, has agreed to furnish the music. So the stage is again set for a most successful affair. As in the past, the exact decorations for the dance will be held secret until the ball itself. But under the direction of H. E. Elder they are bound to do honor to the ballroom. And the refresments, too, will be well taken care of. The Houston Club with the largest regular dance floor in the city, with its spacious grill, and its luxurious lounge, has once more been chosen for the site of the ball. Last year "The Engineer" met with great success there; so it was acquired again for this year's dance. For this time of the year, due to its size and coolness, it has proven to be by far the most comfortable and pleasing ballroom possible to obtain.
